From the lanterns that are not collected I put together long lamp towers. These will be offered for sale. Proceeds from all sales go to SHINE 2011.

We can turn your lantern into a hanging lamp so it can continue to shine at home. Cost 15 euros.

In Amsterdam, the street lights along the Westerpark quay have been transformed into LICHTLINT. For the long row of streetlights and for 9 shop windows in the Staatslieden neighborhood, LICHTKAMERS, I made lanterns composed of hundreds of buckets. The buckets were crafted by children and adults of the neighborhood with texts and signs about light. What gives light? How does it shine? Do you need it? SHINE connects the participants’ stories and images into a collective artwork that gives light to Amsterdam.
