Island heroes

A collaboration project between Montessori School De Eilanden and Community School De Zeeheld.

Students from the two schools just around the corner visited each other, at each other’s school and in each other’s classrooms. They went out in small groups. They showed each other special places in their neighborhood, wrote about them and made drawings of them: The shipyard, the tropical garden, the climbing tree, the shop where their aunt works and much more special things they showed each other.

Each group made their own design from the drawings, which they screen printed on fabric and from which a large stack of cushions was made. Finally, the Island Heroes have given their cushions a place of honor at both schools.
